Annual Leave

Introduction
Employees are entitled to different kinds of leave. All absence from the usual work schedule will require the Employee to submit a Leave Request through Humanity/ERPNext and must be approved by their immediate supervisor/ Line Manager and as well as the Human Resources Department.
The employee will be eligible for a period of annual leave with pay as follows:
- For Medical Staff:
The Employee shall be entitled to 30 calendar days’ paid leave in each leave year.
- For Non-Medical Staff:
The Employee shall be entitled to 22 or 25 working days’ paid leave in each leave year – depending on the contract.
The Company’s leave year is the calendar year.
If the Appointment commences part way through the leave year, the Employee’s leave entitlement during the first year of the Appointment shall be calculated on a pro-rata basis.
Annual leave shall be taken at such time or times as shall be approved in advance by Manzil Home Health Services. The Employee shall not without the consent of the Company management carry forward any accrued and unused leave entitlement to a subsequent leave year.
Requests for annual leave must be submitted to Line Manager / Department Heads at least two (2) months in advance.
Department Heads shall be responsible to ensure that Employee’s annual leave is properly scheduled and will have the right to determine the commencement and length of annual leave so as not to disrupt the facilities operational requirements.
Annual leave must be authorized by the Line Manager / Department Head and approved by the Human Resources Manager.
Manzil Home Health Services shall have the right to postpone or amend an already approved leave for operational reasons.
When a Staff Member is on annual leave for part of a month, calculation of scheduled working hours will be based on the proportional number of balance calendar days in that month.
In no circumstances will approved leave be extended and the Employee must report back to work on the date specified in the approved leave application. Failure to report to duty on the specified date will result in disciplinary action.
Employees should not work for any other employer during their leave.
On termination of the Appointment, the Employee shall be entitled to be paid in lieu of accrued, but untaken leave. If the employee has taken more leave than the Employee’s accrued entitlement at the date of termination of the Appointment, the facility shall be entitled to deduct the appropriate amount from any payments due to the Employee.
If either Party has served notice to terminate the Appointment, the facility may require the Employee to take any accrued but unused leave entitlement during the notice period.
