Grievances
Manzil Home Health Services recognizes that employees may wish to raise matters, which are causing them concern, or to seek redress for grievances related to their employment.
The grievance procedure provides a structured framework to allow employees’ grievances to be handled fairly, speedily and consistently at informal and formal stages.
Each Employee is entitled to receive answers to questions or clarification of concerns from their immediate supervisors. If these questions or clarification cannot be handled satisfactorily or on an informal basis the Employee may request to use the following stages of Employees resolution procedures.
Informal Stage:
Employees should aim to resolve most grievances informally with their direct Line Manager. Problems and concerns should be raised as early as possible and in the first instance with the immediate supervisor / Charge nurse to whom the employee reports.
The direct Line Manager must make every effort to resolve the complaint / grievance as quickly as possible through discussion with the employee and by allowing reasonable time to conduct a thorough investigation.
Employees who have a grievance against their direct Line Manager should raise the issue to the next level of Management. The procedure will therefore commence stage 1 of the Formal stage.
If the employee believes their direct Line Manager’s decision or action was unfair or unreasonable, they may choose to invoke the formal stages of grievance procedure, within twenty calendar days of the informal grievance hearing.
Formal Stage
Stage one: The employee should complete a written formal notification of the grievance using the Grievance Notification form, detailing the problem and why they believe their direct line Manager’s decision or action was unfair or unreasonable and submit to the Manager Human Resources. A hearing will be convened within twenty calendar days and employee informed about the decision within seven days of their meeting.
Stage two (final formal stage): In the event the employee believes the management decision is unfair or unreasonable and remains dissatisfied after stage one, the matter should be referred to the third and final formal stage within twenty calendar days of the date of receipt of letter to the employee. The grievance should be referred to the Human Resources who will arrange a hearing normally within twenty calendar days.
The Human Resources will submit the final decision to the Employee within seven calendar days of their meeting.
